Rick Derringer plays with Steely Dan (Tribute)

Playing with Rick Derringer at Newport Rocks the Fort in the Summer of 2014 was a great experience for Hey Nineteen. Rick is such a pioneer in Rock and Roll and most people have no idea. A few Rick Derringer facts:

1. Rick Derringer played guitar on a number of Steely Dan tunes: Chain Lightning, Show Biz Kids, My Rival
2. He played with Edgar and Johnny Winters, being the guitarist on the hit song-Frankenstein
3. Rick of course wrote and recorded the Classic Rock Hit – Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo
4. His original foray into fame was with the McCoys when he was 17 years old they had a # 1 hit called Hang On Sloopy. This song was knocked out of 1st position by the Beatles- Yesterday!
